Catrice Liquid Metal Eyeshadows

Monday 7 September 2015

I've been admiring this range of shadows for a while now, and I got these two as a gift from my cousin I was delighted. The lighter shade 010 Look me in the ice is obviously the more wearable of the two, but the navy shade 110 Underworld Evolution is just stunning and I can't wait to find a way to use it. When used dry the shadows are a bit crumbly and are more like a sheer glitter, but when i spritzed some of my fuchsia makeup setting spray onto my brush and using the shadows wet, you achieve a much more pigmented look.

August Favourites 2015

Saturday 29 August 2015

I rarely try enough products to warrant one of these posts each month but I've been trying some new things lately that I've really loved. If you've been reading my blog in the last couple of months, you may remember a post I did on my new Victoria's Secret Pure Seduction scent.  I've had it for around two months now and its getting to be one of my favourites. Its slightly musky without being too heavy which I really like.  My next favourite item is, the Rimmel Sun Shimmer Instant Tan. I used to really love this but forgot about it until I needed something instant a couple weeks back. It gives a fab  even colour almost straight away. I'm quite fair and the medium gives me a really nice natural looking tan. My only real problem with this is that it's not water resistant at all. My final favourite is the Lacura Moisturising Body Lotion. This is from Aldi's skin care range, and to be honest I was VERY skeptical of using this as I have such sensitive skin, but this is one of the best body moisturisers I've ever used. I used it after shaving my legs and my legs are still really soft, 3 days later, which is really really good for me.

Favourite Instagram Accounts

Saturday 8 August 2015

Instagram is one of my favourite social media apps. Its where I sometimes find inspiration for a post or it's great to find out about new products and releases and such. I do spend a considerable amount of time on it, so I've found some accounts I really like. *Shameless self promo to follow* If you'd like you can follow me @missemmalouise12, which is also linked in the sidebar.

One of my favourites is meghanrienks. She is one of my favourite Youtubers, and I love her theme on instagram. Its so white and bright and amazing. She also has great style and her makeup is pretty. And just goals, pure goals right there.

Another Instagram account I love is inthefrow. First off her hair, its so amazing. And purple. And pretty. She also has amazing style and is a fellow blogger. She posts lots of photos of her outfits which are amazing and make me want to go shopping and buy all of the clothes.

I also love nikkietutorials. She's a makeup artist and Youtube if you haven't already heard from her. Her makeup skills are everything I wish I could have. She also posts mini tutorials of her looks which are great and are useful if you're lacking inspiration.

Another Lush Haul

Monday 20 July 2015

I recently took a trip to Lush and I find it really hard to go in and not buy anything. I'v been wanting to try the ickle babybot for a while now and I can't wait to try it, it smells great like all of Lushes stuff.I also got the Butterball bath ballistic. It smells amazing! I've been looking up photos of this online and it has small pieces of cocoa butter in it. Its been recommended for people with dry and sensitive skin so I thought it would be a great thing to try. I'm really excited to try these because I haven't had anything from Lush in ages. I've been wanting the Lush Vanillary perfume for ages, and I smelled it again while I was in, and its just made me want even more. The only thing thats stopping me buying it, is that its kind of expensive.

Do you like any of lushes perfumes?

Hair | Pinspiration

Saturday 18 July 2015

For me, Pinterest is always some where I go when i'm looking for inspiration. Be it for room decor, makeup, hair etc. Lately I've been using it to find some inspiration for what I want my hair to look like for my debs in October. I've been looking and I've decided I want my hair up as my dress has an open back on it. I'm personally not a fan of incredibly sleek, slicked back perfect updo's. I feel like it suits me a lot better if I have it messy and softer around my face. I have a lot of hair (the joys of having thick hair) and I feel like having it down will only annoy and irritate me.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Battle Of The Beauty Blenders*

Wednesday 15 July 2015

I've been wanting to try a beauty blender for ages. Since I didn't want to commit and buy the really expensive one I decided to try out a few budget ones first. I was in pennys recently and saw they had a beauty blender on sale for something like 1.50. I bought it and tried it out, and I found that it applied my foundation to a really natural finish, that wasn't very high coverage. The next three were I trio* I received from bornpretty.com (Pssst! Theres a discount code RELG10 if you want to try them out too!). I also found that these three blenders left me with a very natural looking finish to my foundation compared to my usual real techniques buffing brush. I think these are great for days when you want something more natural and light. However I do find it a bit more messy and fiddly than just using a brush.

I will probably stick to my buffing brush for the future. I will continue to use them and try to get the hang of them. They're main selling point for me was how well and seamlessly they blend out anything. Let it be foundation, highlight, contour etc.

How do you Feel about beauty blenders?

Skin Care Haul*

Monday 29 June 2015

Recently I've wanted to get my skincare back on track as its been basically non existent the last couple months. Since my skin is the most sensitive thing ever, I have to be really really careful with it, or it'll just break out like nothing else. Nourish* kindly sent me two sample of their products to try. They sent me two samples of their exfoliating cleanser to try out. I haven't tried it yet, but I plan on it soon. The next item that I bought was A Sephora brightening & perfecting mask. I picked this up when I was in Sephora whilst I was in Barcelona. I went in with the hopes that they might have some Kat Von D products that I was after, which they didn't, but they were released in Spain literally two days after I left. Gutted isn't even the word. I actually have used this mask and since its a sheet mask, I ended up looking like something from a horror movie with it on. It did feel really refreshing but unfortunately it did break my skin out. No surprises there.

Review| MeMeMe Arch Angel*

Saturday 13 June 2015

I was recently sent MeMeMe's arch angel* to review, and when I first heard of the concept of this product I was intrigued. I was sent the shade dark brown which is a lot more brown that i'm used to, as my brows tend to be a bit more ashy since I'm blonde. This product has two sides, one to sculpt and set the brows and the other to highlight and define. Despite being a different colour than i'm used to I actually really liked it. The wand for sculpting is very small. The product is of a gel consistency and I found it to very wet compared to any other brow gel that i've tried. I also found it extremely messy. I found it got all over my brow bone, which I guess makes the need for the other end of this product. On to the highlighter. I found this was very light. I'm extremely pale and it was still very very noticeable on me, which is never a problem i've experienced with a higher before. I also don't like how much shimmer is in this product. I found that if you don't scrape all of the excess product off of the applicator it applies way too much and gets impossible to work with. I love the concept of this product and I think with a couple tweaks to the formulae on both parts of this product, it could be amazing! I did like it however, it won't make me stray from my usual brow routine.

Have you tried this yet?

Some Great Summer Products

Wednesday 27 May 2015

Summer is fast approaching and I've started to break out some products that I loved last summer and some that I know I will love this summer coming. A product that I love is the Essence silky touch blush in the shade autumn peach. Its a gorgeous coral shade which isn't too overpowering. It was a staple in my makeup routine last year, and I'm sure it will be again this year. Next is the seventeen skin wow! highlighter, I've spoken very highly about this already. Theres a full review here
This Revlon nearly naked foundation may look about 2939232 shades too dark for me but its actually a pretty good shade for when i'm tan. I can't wait to give this a proper trial run over the summer. Finally I have the seven shimmer bricks in gold bronze. I've spoken about these before. They're frickin' amazing. Between this and the skin wow! highlighter, it greats the dynamic duo of all highlighters. Trust me, its good.

What are you're favourite summer beauty products?

Review | Seventeen Skin Wow 3 Way Highlighter

Wednesday 20 May 2015

I bought this a while back on a three for two in boots whilst I was on the hunt for a great highlighter. I was always kind of intrigued by this product and I finally gave it and bought it. First off I have to say I LOVE it. It gives such a natural glow, which I really like. Theres no chunky glitter in this at all, which is quite common among some high street highlighters. As the name suggests there are 3 different ways to use this; Alone as a primer, mixed in with your foundation and applied after foundation to the places where you would usually apply highlighter. My favourite way to wear this is the latter, on top of my foundation because it makes you look like a glowy Victoria's secret model, especially if you apply it under neath the seventeen shimmer bricks. And lets be real, who doesn't want that?

My Must Have Eye Brushes

Wednesday 22 April 2015

Eye makeup is probably my favourite part of doing my makeup. I love eye brushes and over the years I've accumulated quite a few.

This is probably the one brush that I would consider most important in my makeup routine. The Sigma E40 blending brush is perfect for blending out any colour. Its amazing. It makes my whole makeup routine a lot quicker and my eye makeup blend out so much more flawlessly.

First off, I know the tape around this brush does not stand to the quality of this brush but it happened within the first week I had it because I washed it wrong, but since then I have had no fall out with this brush. This is the Essence smokey eye brush, it was one of the first eye brushes that I ever used and i've never not had this at hand during my makeup, so for me it really is a staple. Its the perfect brush for placing colour in the crease and it blends out pretty well too. A great option if you're on a budget.

This brush is a more recent favourite of mine. Its from H&M and I'm really surprised at how great it is for a quick nicely blended eye look.I've had it for a while but never really paid much attention to it if I'm honest. You can use it to lay a shadow on the lid and also use it to blend a lighter colour through the crease. Another great option if you're on a budget.

My final favourite is this shader brush is from Urban decay. This is a fairly basic item in my collection but its just such a good one, and I like it a lot. There will obviously be options that are just as good for a lot cheaper, but this one came with Naked Palette, and ever since I just really love using it.

A Youtuber Product | Ruth Crilly & Colab Dry Shampoo

Wednesday 15 April 2015

I've wanted to try this for ages ever since, I started to see it pop up across blogs and vlogs from England raving about it. I found mine in penny's on Connolly street. They only had 3 scents but this does comes in 5 different scents. London, Paris,New York, Rio & Tokyo. The one I picked up was London. Mainly because it smells UNBELIEVABLE. I wish this scent came as a perfume. Thats how much I love it. It smells sort of floral and musky but also elegant at the same time. I don't generally get greasy hair so I can't vouch for how well it absorbs oil but it builds volume like nothing else. I love it. I find it builds volume while not leaving any kind of residue which is something I really really like. They have also released a COLAB Extreme volume range which I would really love to get my hands on.

Have you tried this? What did you think?

Favourite Neutral Shadows

Saturday 11 April 2015

Basically all I wear on my eyes is neutral shadows. I love the way they look and believe it or not theres a million different ways to wear them. My first favourite is a pretty obvious one. The Original Naked Palette is a cult favourite when it comes to neutral shadows. It has 12 gorgeous neutral shades that you can use a billion (roughly) different ways. I'm not going to bang on about these for too long because everyone's heard about it and if you're thinking about getting one I would definitely recommend getting it. My only gripe with this is the packaging gets filthy. A small price to pay for great shadows though.

My other favourite neutral shadows are the Essence eye shadow Quattro in 'To Die For'. Its very inexpensive and it was one of the first makeup items I ever bought. It has gorgeous pigmentation and the shadows are so easily blendable. It's something I use almost every time I do my makeup and definitely a holy grail Item for me. A great one if you're just starting out in makeup and are trying to figure out what works for you.
