Review: Revlon Colour Stay

Thursday, 26 June 2014

It's an understatement to say that this has completely raised the bar on Foundations for good. It's honestly a holy grail item for me. At 16.99 it is on the higher of the high street foundation line, but my gosh is it worth it. It gives a flawless matte finish, which I love. Even though i've been really into dewy foundation, theres just something about the finish that I love.  My shade is in one of the lightest shades if not the lightest,  150 Buff. Its a really good match for my skin and it's buildable without it getting to dark. Another good point about this, is that it does last all day. Maybe not the 24 hours it claims but definitely a decent 12.

No Pump:(
The only problem i have with this foundation is that there is no pump! I've heard that in some places they're sold with a pump but not Ireland apparently. It's such a great foundation it's a detail i'm willing to over look it. I will say though, it does take a bit of getting used to because you need less product than you would another foundation because it is so high coverage.
I've found that the colour stay foundation and the collection lasting perfection concealer are the perfect duo. Even on days where my i'm having a cray breakout, it makes my skin look wonderful.

Style Steal: Blake Lively

Friday, 20 June 2014

For the longest time I've loved blake lively's style, even as far back to the early gossip girl days. She's got a style that's so sleek and classic, I just can't even explain how much I want her wardrobe. I love what she's wearing here, its so modern but still manages to be somewhat elegant too. I personally love the monochrome look. Since Blake's you know, kind of loaded and this outfit probably cost more than my parents car,  I think it's nice to find high street looks similar to this.

Should I do more posts like this? I think they're a good idea but I'd like to get some more opinions on it:)

Brand Breakdown: Essence

Tuesday, 17 June 2014

When I started using makeup at the age of 13/14, essence quickly became one of my favourite brands. Mainly because of the fact that it was really cheap and easy to get. I've tried a lot of products from their range, both good and bad. Also I apologise for the quality of these photo's, my camera seems to have had a bit of a fit and I didn't realise until it was too late!

2 in 1 eyeliner pen
I both this in the hunt for the perfect liner to start off with. I didn't really like this. I found that it went on very sheer and I had to go over it twice to get it as dark as I liked it. I also found that it dried up really quickly and I also thought that the thicker end was kind of hard to use as it was so short.

I heart stage Eyeshadow base
I really like this product, I find that it makes my eyeshadow last ages and ages. The only thing to keep in mind with this product is that a little goes a long way. If you put on too much its hard to blend it out since it is a very yellow product. I think for the price and the packaging this is a complete steal!

 I heart extreme Volume Mascara
I really didn't like either of these mascara's. There was a good bit of hype around the I heart extreme volume (the black tube pictured), and i honestly just don't get it. I found that it clumped and it just didn't work for me at all! The I heart crazy volume mascara (pink tube)  I really just did not get along with. I actually did a full review here

Eyeshadow quattro in 'to die for'
This was one of the first ever products I bought from essence and it's one of my holy grail items. I honestly can't praise this product enough. It's the best neutral quattro I've ever used. The highlighter colour is so beautiful and it gives a really nice sheen without being in your face. I did a full review of this ages and ages ago (It was actually my very first post!).

Silky touch blush in baby doll

This is another product that I absolutely LOVE. It's one of my favourite blushes to use on an everyday basis. It gives the perfect amount of  colour without it being too much or too little. As you can see its a much loved product because it's gotten a bit bumped around in the while i've had it.

Overall, I love essence and it's by far one of my favourite high street brands. I'd love to find out more products to try from this brand so leave me some recommendations

Review: Wet N' Wild Megaliner

Friday, 13 June 2014

Sorry for the lack of posts guys I've been off sunning myself in sunny spain! but onwards and upwards. Unless you've been living under a rock for the past couple months you'll know that Wet N' Wild has landed on Irish shores. And all Beauty bloggers basically lost their shit over it. I really wanted to try this liner as it had been hyped up and talked about a lot on blogs and such.

On first impressions this liner looks pretty good. It as nice really slick looking packaging and the brush feels solid yet moveable at the same time. A really good combination in a liquid liner. As for the formula i'm not a big fan. It applies nicely and its not too runny, which is a problem I've come across with some liquid liners. It applied a really nice pigmented dark black. As it wore for a few hours it started to fade. When I finally took it off at the end of the day the edges of my winged liner weren't as crisp and clean as they were at the start and the colour was less pigmented.

Overall I would not be a fan of this liner. I wouldn't recommend it as there are better liners out there for the same price or cheaper even.

Also if you guys look in the side bar there's a button to nominate me for the Irish blog awards 2014 and I'd really love you guys to nominate me ;)
