The palette every girl needs

Wednesday 2 August 2017

With all the controversy of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture palette so big at the moment I thought it would be a good idea to remember its sister palette, Modern Renaissance.. You've no doubt heard all your favourite bloggers and you tubers talking about it, and with good reason.

It features a gorgeous array of pink and red tones. It contains 10 matt shades and 4 shimmer shades. The mix of colour leaves for a gorgeous spring/summer eye look, with all the shades you would need in this one palette. For example for a quick running out the door look, I put 'Tempera' all over the lid and brow bone and they pick up 'Raw Sienna' and 'Burnt Orange' on a big fluffy blending brush and take it through the crease. To finish it off I just take a mix of those two shades on a pencil brush and place them on my lower lash line.

The quality of these shadows is like nothing i've used before. They are so nicely pigmented that they just blend out with so little effort. The only down fall I've found with these shadows is that they do have a bit off fall out on the matt shades. This is definitely not a deal breaker for me, as the blendability and the pigmentation totally outweigh the fallout.

If you're any way on the fence about buying this palette, I would definitely say go for it. Especially if you're just getting into makeup, these shades are just so easy to work with! I wouldn't let the fact that it's slightly brighter in colour scheme put you off at all.

The palette retails for €53 and you can get it here here

PS... Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

Friday 25 March 2016

Pennys' (primark in the rest of Europe) makeup and beauty range 'PS...' is becoming increasingly popular. Their brushes in particular have gained a lot of popularity, because they're really good quality at really, really good prices.

Simple Micellar Cleansing Water

Friday 26 February 2016

Micellar waters are the biggest thing in skincare recently. From Bioderma to Garnier, almost every skincare brand has one. Simple has always been one of my favourite skin care brands and when I saw the had one, I really wanted to try it. I was apprehensive as I had already tried the Garnier and it broke me out pretty bad.

Spring Blushes

Wednesday 17 February 2016

I'm always trying to change up my makeup routine because I find it very easy to become stuck in my ways. In spring I do like a nice coral blush, because I'd usually go for a pink. The first blush that I think will be really pretty for spring is the Catrice blush in the shade Love + peach. This is definitely the pinker of the two coral shades. It can go on very heavily so a light hand is probably best with this. However, it doesn't have any glitter but still gives a fab glow.

NYX | Tame And Frame Brow Pomade

Saturday 23 January 2016

I have been wanting to try a brow pomade for a while. I'd heard so many positive things about the Anastasia dip bro pomade and while its not mega mega expensive, its still about €17. I was looking at at NYX stand recently and saw this. It is small in size but it was only €7.25. I decided to get it as I wanted to try it and see if I would be able to use it and if I liked the consistency etc.

The Wet Brush | Is It Worth The Hype?

Sunday 17 January 2016

I'd heard lots of things about the wet brush and how it was the best thing since the start of time itself when it comes to detangling hair. I'd wanted one for a while but they were very hard to come by in ireland. Until about 3 weeks ago when I saw they were stocked in Bradleys Pharmacy in blanchardstown. I didn't want to buy the most expensive one if it wasn't going to live up to the hype. The one pictured is the smallest size and it cost me €11.99.

Catrice Liquid Metal Eyeshadows

Monday 7 September 2015

I've been admiring this range of shadows for a while now, and I got these two as a gift from my cousin I was delighted. The lighter shade 010 Look me in the ice is obviously the more wearable of the two, but the navy shade 110 Underworld Evolution is just stunning and I can't wait to find a way to use it. When used dry the shadows are a bit crumbly and are more like a sheer glitter, but when i spritzed some of my fuchsia makeup setting spray onto my brush and using the shadows wet, you achieve a much more pigmented look.

August Favourites 2015

Saturday 29 August 2015

I rarely try enough products to warrant one of these posts each month but I've been trying some new things lately that I've really loved. If you've been reading my blog in the last couple of months, you may remember a post I did on my new Victoria's Secret Pure Seduction scent.  I've had it for around two months now and its getting to be one of my favourites. Its slightly musky without being too heavy which I really like.  My next favourite item is, the Rimmel Sun Shimmer Instant Tan. I used to really love this but forgot about it until I needed something instant a couple weeks back. It gives a fab  even colour almost straight away. I'm quite fair and the medium gives me a really nice natural looking tan. My only real problem with this is that it's not water resistant at all. My final favourite is the Lacura Moisturising Body Lotion. This is from Aldi's skin care range, and to be honest I was VERY skeptical of using this as I have such sensitive skin, but this is one of the best body moisturisers I've ever used. I used it after shaving my legs and my legs are still really soft, 3 days later, which is really really good for me.

What have you loved this month?
